United Prayer "UP"
January 1-30, 2012
This year's 30 Days of Prayer will take place January 1-30, 2012. The theme will be "United Prayer" with the acronym "UP."
It is time for us to assemble together and go "UP" to the upper room, in the Spirit, as we gather in "one accord in prayer" (Acts 1:14) and "with one accord in one place" (Acts 2:1) to see a sweeping move of the Holy Ghost as "one church body" in this hour (Acts 2:2-4; 4:31-35). Jesus went with others "UP into the mountain to pray," and the voice of God was heard and His glory was revealed (Luke 9:28-35). When the church renders "united prayer" as "one" body in alignment and unity with the purpose, plan, and will of God, then we will see greater revival and harvest. There is reality in what E.M. Bounds once stated: "Prayer can do anything God can do."
Pray...
- for every believer to develop a deep personal relationship with God and whole-heartedly commune with Him daily and allow His presence to go with them continually: "And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest" (Exodus 33:14);
- for fresh movements of prayer to permeate the United Pentecostal Church International, and that all saints will adopt a lifestyle of prayer and fasting: "These all continued with one accord in prayer" (Acts 1:14);
- for a spirit of "one accord" to prevail among the church as we join together in corporate prayer: "When the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place" (Acts 2:1);
- for the body of Christ to give ourselves to apostolic priorities. Pray that we incorporate praying the"Tabernacle Plan" consistently: "But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word" (Acts 6:4);
- for the church to unite and proclaim one God, function as one church, and endeavor in one mission, proclaiming the name of Jesus: "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism" (Ephesians 4:3-5);
- for a spirit of praise to come on the church for what God is doing among so many: "When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God" (Acts 11:18);
- for the church to pray without ceasing: "Prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God" (Acts 12:5);
- for healing to take place in the church-spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally: "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed" (James 5:16a);
- for the church to be righteous (upright, moral, and virtuous), standing in God's righteousness, so our prayers will "avail much": "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16b);
- for God's people to continue walking in His ways and wisdom in order to fulfill His purposes: "Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me" (Psalm 119:133);
- for Christ's love to be seen in the charity, humility, and compassionate service of His people to others: "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:35);
- for the church to become agents of help and healing for those in need in their workplace, community, schools, social circles, and sphere of influence. Pray for needs among children, youth, and adults to be met:"As ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40);
- for there to be a revival among the prodigals (backsliders) of the church: "Thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found" (Luke 15:32);
- for the church to have a Kingdom focus in their prayers: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33);
- for Israel and for God's divine biblical plan to be wrought: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee" (Psalm 122:6);
- for Asia, the 10/40 window, and all other nations of the world. Pray especially for nations that are closed to the gospel to be opened. Pray for worldwide harvest: "And it shall come to pass in the last days...the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established...and all nations shall flow unto it" (Isaiah 2:2);
- for laborers to be sent forth into the harvest, and for abundant finances and resources to spread the gospel throughout the world: "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest" (Matthew 9:38);
- for the Bible to be translated and made available in every language: "And many nations shall come...for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem" (Micah 4:2);
- for there to be a drawing of people whom God is calling to submit their lives completely to Him: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock" (Revelation 3:20);
- for the poor, the sick, the orphans, and refugees to have their basic needs of food, water, and healthcare provided: "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19);
- for a revelation of the name of Jesus and who He really is to manifest to this world, and that many will be converted unto the Lord: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12);
- for those who are persecuted for the sake of Christ: "Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed" (II Corinthians 4:9);
- for the lost and those who are deceived to truly recognize how their lives are being destroyed by sin, and for them to experience salvation and deliverance. Pray that God would restrain satanic powers and show Himself mighty, liberating many people to follow Him: "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins" ( Acts 26:18);
- for people to be delivered from depression, oppression, idolatry, and other strongholds: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds" (II Corinthians 10:4);
- for God to strengthen, heal, and restore families and encourage them toward His priorities. "And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand" (Mark 3:25);
- for the masses impacted by famine, disease, wars, natural disasters, and chaos upon the earth. Pray that this will turn many people to Jesus for salvation: "But [the Lord] is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (II Peter 3:9);
- for the manifestation of healing, signs, wonders, and miracles for God's glory: "My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power" (I Corinthians 2:4);
- for the ministry and all church leadership, and for a complete liberty of the operation of the five-fold ministry in the body of Christ. Pray for the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, and God's divine ability to manifest in His ministers, as He desires: "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11);
- for God's people to "put on Christ" and align with His purpose and fall into alignment with His perfect will: "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof" (Romans 13:14);
- for great end-time revival, restoration, and harvest, and for saints to pray the Word of God and believe it. Pray the church will enter into the blessings and promises of God by possessing the land: "And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts" (Haggai 2:7).
